The Colorado Buffs are a team that you either love or you hate. Be that as it may, they are a team that draws big crowds to their games and have the potential to light up the scoreboard.
After being embarrassed last week in a loss to Nebraska, you can tell Colorado came out with a chip on their shoulder. The game started slow, with Colorado State taking a early field goal lead and going into the 2nd quarter up 3-0.
That’s when the Buffs offense came to life. For the first time this season (and possibly last), Colorado was able to run the ball and protect Shedeur Sanders and give him time to make plays down the field. Shedeur finished the drive off with a 4 yd TD pass.
Shedeur’s second TD of the day was a beautiful 34 yard strike.
Shedeur was not finished, this was his 3rd unanswered TD of the day.
Travis Hunter with an interception that might just put this game out of reach
The story of this game was the efficiency of the Colorado offense, they were able to move the ball up and down the field with ease. Shedeur was not sacked on the night, and he looked comfortable in the pocket as he SHREDDED CSU.
Colorado’s defense played fast and physical in this game and didn’t allow a touchdown until 10:00 left in the 4th quarter. It appeared Travis Hunter had some shoulder pain and he was on the sideline on the run play that scored the TD.
Fans were quick to give their opinion on Hunter’s usage.
Colorado State went for a 2 pt conversion that failed, making the score 28-9, with Shedeur getting another chance to run up the score (which we all know he will gladly do) 🤷🏽♂️.
The Colorado offense started the next drive at their 25 yard line, without Travis Hunter. Shedeur was able to keep the chains moving, with a completion to his 5th string WR, it should be noted.
There was nothing the Colorado State defense was able to do to even slow down Colorado, as Shedeur continued to throw the ball, but kept the clock moving. There were better signs of clock management, which had been a criticism of many of Colorado’s skeptics coming into this game.

This amazing play was called back due to a questionable holding penalty against Colorado.
The end of this game took what felt like an eternity due to a combined 22 penalties called against the two teams (with most in the 4th qtr it felt like). Colorado State was able to move the ball deep into Colorado territory, but the clock was their worst enemy in this situation and it seemed to be too little, too late.
Colorado State finally made the final fatal mistake and fumbled a snap, making their 4th turnover of the game. They gave the ball back to Colorado with a chance to milk the clock and finish off a dominating win. Shedeur decided to come out throwing the ball, and adding to his already impressive stat line.
Colorado decided to keep throwing it, and bizarrely went for it on 4th down and turned the ball over on downs back to Colorado State. Thankfully, CSU was unable to do anything but run the clock out, like Colorado should’ve done.
A win is a win, but a well coached first half became overshadowed by some questionable calls in the second half.
Shedeur let them know after the game “you can’t f*ck with me” 😂
