Las Vegas Raiders superstar wideout, Davante Adams is in the headlines again, but not for his work on the field. He has requested a trade.
His 2 top desired targets would presumably be reunions. 1A. Long time NFL QB, who already sparked rumors recently about reuniting, Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets. 1B. Long time best friend, college QB, and a major reason he was a Raider in the first place, Derek Carr and the New Orleans Saints. There’s other teams in the mix, but those are his preferred choices so likely the favorites.
But wait…. There’s more! DRAMA!
The New York Jets fired Head Coach, Robert Saleh, today, and it doesn’t appear it went over too well. There appears to be a disconnect and disfunction going on with the Raiders and Adams, but also with the team as a whole, which may be why Adams wants out. If you wanted to land Tae, showing your own disfunction probably isn’t the best way to do that. He wants to get away from that, not walk into somebody else’s crap. The New York Jets may now be off the table, unless you’re going to give him and AR12 the authority to name the next coach together. That might put you back in his graces, maybe.
Then there’s Derek Carr, who once again loses to the Kansas City Chiefs, not only that, was knocked out of the game with an oblique injury. It got worse this afternoon when it was announced Carr would miss multiple games. I’m sure a major reason he wants to leave is the undesirable QB play in Vegas, why leave to play with an unknown rookie backup?
With the top favorites to land Adams both dealing with their own drama, is Davante wishing he would’ve just kept quiet and stayed where he wanted to be since he was a kid?
What do you think? Will the Jets or Saints still land Tae, is there a new favorite, or will he rescind the request all together?
